Setting Goals - The Life Coach Courses

Setting goals is today's lesson in the Life Coach courses.

Everyone, everywhere has them. Goals. The difference between having them and setting and achieving goals is what seperates true students of personal development from the chronic daydreamer. Much of what we have been taught about setting goals is effective, and applicable today, but parts of the process are misleading.

In setting goals, your greatest weapon is your imagination. Your goals can range from career and business goals, financial goals, health goals and so on. The important thing to remember is to think BIG ! In the theater of setting goals - it takes no more energy to set a big goal, than it does to be super conservative and go after a little one. This is the fun part - let it all hang out and go after the big fish!

Don't take this step to lightly though. Have some fun with it, but know that setting goals is strictly business. Before you put pen to paper with what you want to achieve, know that it had better be something that you are willing to put some work in on. Here is one of the myths of old-school goal setting. It's easy.

Not so much...

Setting goals is easy. Achieving them is work - and you will trip and fall, you will want to quit, and you will get disgusted at your lack of progress. Told ya this isn't for those who are not commited. Hence the reason you need to see a vision that will almost haunt you with how good it will feel when you obtain it. Otherwise - this goal you just set - is just a "wish."

Dig deep and identify goals that stir your soul and make you commit to achieving them more than you want your next breath. Once you have it, we can work on how we will achieve that goal - next time !

For now, concentrate on setting goals and I'll see you in the next post of The Life Coach Courses...
